I enjoyed yesterdays mini word art pattern so I decided to do another one. Just about every pattern designer out there has designed one of these Amazing Grace crosses. I'm not sure anyone has designed one two inches tall.
Just like yesterday's pattern I used a #2/0 blade to make the cuts and a #71 micro drill bit to drill the interior holes.
On yesterdays mini word art pattern I used a wood that hod too much contrast in the grain. That made it hard to read. I went with maple today and I like it much better.
There are two style of this project in the pattern book. One has an eyelet for making a necklace and the other is without the eyelet. I was thinking these would be nice conversation starters if you kept a couple of them in your pocket. Hand them out at bible study or to family and friends.
They do take just a little longer to cut than the size would make you believe. This one took about 25 minutes. If you drill and cut very carefully you may be able to stack cut a couple to save some time. Stack cutting does get more difficult at this size.
