This small organic sculpture probably won't be everyone's cup of tea. It's a little out there from a typical scroll saw pattern. I like to play with shapes. I especially like the blend of organic and architectural. I also enjoy some abstract sculptures. My wife named it Love Birds. Okay, let's go with that. :)
My favorite abstract art uses both wood and metal. My preference for this sculpture would be for the pedestal to be cut from steel. I don't have the tools to make that happen so I used all wood.
I think it is important to sculpt the edges of the two birds to a knife edge. If you leave them squared off it destroys the organic feel.
Request for help: Serious Geek Alert:
I am looking for some help from someone with advanced level network skills. Here is what I am trying to solve.
Network connected Laser cutter/engraver(hard wired). Set to DHCP. Ethernet cable to the router.
About 1 out of 5 times I boot the laser it will not get an IP address from the router. It will time out with its default IP address and I cannot connect to it from the desktop.
I can set a static IP address but that does not always work either.
All I have to do is reboot the Laser and it always gets an IP on the second boot. The boot time is only about three minutes but I would still like to solve the problem.
I have done quite a bit of troubleshooting already but I'm still not convinced if it is the controller in the laser not requesting the IP or the router not giving the IP.
Here is my question. Is there a way to monitor the network traffic while the laser is booting and see the request from the laser to acquire a DHCP IP address?
I have the network packet analyzer Wireshark. The problem is that I'm not educated enough to understand the DHCP IP request packet if I see it.
To summarize, I just am trying to figure out if the Laser control PWB is the root cause or if my router may be blocking the IP request. Can't understand why the router would only sometimes block the request. Of course, the manufacturer thinks the problem is with my network. It may be but I want proof.
Luckily this is only an inconvenience. I can always get it to work but it has become a challenge to figure out the exact cause.
I can provide the Wireshark packet dump if that helps.
I know I'm asking for $200 an hour help for free but it would be appreciated if you have any input.

Thank you for the great response to the custom signature coins. I am able to keep up with the orders daily. Most of the time the package is being shipped out the day after the order is placed. I won't promise I can get them out that fast but so far so good.
I am starting to get feedback from customers and it has been very positive overall. I even had one customer tell me he had already used all 24 of the coins he ordered. He placed a second order. He has been very busy.
I am also getting requests to put custom logo's on the coins. I am able to do that but it will be expensive for the initial setup. Keep in mind that the coins are only one inch so complex logos are not going to work very well. If you provide a good sample of the logo I will give you a quote for the setup. Make sure you are sitting down when you read the quote. Just kidding I will be as reasonable as possible.
