This clock requires a 3 1/2" insert. Bear Woods is my source for clocks and scroll saw blades.
Just a heads up about this pattern. There are a couple of cuts on the wine bottle label that are small. The letters in the word wine require a drill bit smaller than 1/16". I generally don't draw a pattern with interior cuts this small but this pattern needed the lettering sized small.
If you do not have a selection of micro drill bits they are very handy to have. Bear Woods also sells a selection of these micro bits but I don't think they carry the chuck required to use them yet. Most drill presses and drills will need an additional chuck to use these small blades. I have been trying to get a video together to show all the drill bits and accessories you need for the scroll saw. I will try to get it completed soon.
Another question I receive often is about gluing projects like this together. On this clock, I simply glued the clock to the base. I used Titebond wood glue. Some people are concerned that this will not be strong enough to keep the clock form breaking off the base.
If you have this concern then drill and countersink for screws. I don't find this necessary for most projects unless they will be handled frequently. Today's glues are so strong that they do a great job even with a butt joint like this.
