Rose plaques without the color map.
This pattern book has three oval rose patterns. Each oval is ~ eight inches tall. Each of the fretwork patterns has a matching color map that you will print out and glue to the backer board. The color map is optional.
Note that the left and right roses are just mirror images. Feel free to stack cut these and flip one.
Obviously, you don't have to cut all three. You could cut one for a gift for your Valentine.
Not everyone's cup of tea: :)
Back in October of 2009, I posted the sand timer above. It used an off the shelf sand timer that I purchased from National Artcraft. It was a fun project but they stopped carrying the glass a few months later.
Several folks emailed me about yesterday's pattern questioning why I would use bulbs to make a sand timer when you can just buy one? There is no logical reason for the choice. It is just for the novelty.
The project was not designed to be a useful object. It was designed for the novelty of using light bulbs for something out of the ordinary. I am just strange sometimes. :)
In other words, it was just for fun and to be quirky.
The pattern had a one day total of 612 downloads. :) That is about 1/8 the normal for a first day download total.
Was it too quirky? The numbers say yes. :)

Compound Cut Shark pattern and video from Siberian Woodworker:
Watch the Video
The Siberian Woodworker posted a new video last month of his compound cut shark puzzle. He also makes the pattern available on his Etsy site for $6.50. His patterns are digital and are instant downloads. I don't know this guy but his Etsy site has all positive reviews. It looks like his location is Russia so I don't know if he speaks English. The descriptions on Etsy are well written so I suspect he does speak English. You can leave him a message on his Etsy page if you have questions.
