This Easter bunny is ten inches tall. It is two layers including the backer board. Both layers are designed to be 1/4" thick. That is just a recommendation. Use any thickness that works for you.
My Pattern Design Standards:
A word about simulated project images. I design hundreds of patterns a year. I average about 300 a year for the last 13 years. Because of time, I only cut about 1/3 of them. Some projects need to be cut to make sure they work. Other patterns, like this bunny, are just flat cuts and relatively simple. I don't need to test it. Famous last words.
When I am confident that the pattern will work, I simulate the final project by adding wood texture and sometimes paint texture to the pattern. Then I add a drop shadow and the end result gives a pretty good representation of what the finished cut will look like.
If you plan to sell a project online made from one of my patterns, I ask that you use your own image of the project. Do not use the image included with the pattern.
What I can't simulate very well is depth. I don't have time to do a complete 3D render so the images always look a little flat. This occasionally causes folks to be confused by what they are seeing. If you ever look at a pattern image and think it is confusing then take a look at the actual pattern pages. That will often clear up the confusion.
My patterns also follow the rule that if it is white it gets cut away. The grey of the pattern represents the wood. I know that most of you already know this but new scrollers will often get confused.
When you see a single black line like the whiskers of the bunny above, they are cut with the blade. In scroll saw speak this is called veining. Just cut to the end of the line then back the blade back out.
When I design a pattern with interior cuts I use 1/16" as the smallest drill bit that will be required. There have been exceptions to this rule but not very often.
If you need to take one of my patterns to a print shop they may not want to print them because of copyright concerns. Tell them to look at the bottom of the cover page. There is text there that gives them permission to print as many as you need.
I do not put any restrictions on the number of projects you make from one of my patterns. If you sell a project made from one of my patterns you do not need to give attribution. The project is yours.
I don't mind if you make edits to the patterns for personal use or commercial use as long as the edited pattern is not sold or distributed free to large numbers of people.
I ask that you not host any of my patterns online, even if you offer them for free. I am fine if you link to my catalog from your page.
If you give one of my patterns to a friend, please keep the pattern file complete. Include the cover page and any instructions as well as the pattern pages.
When I compile the pattern to a pdf for distribution, I keep the actual pattern pages as vectors. You can import the PDF into most graphics software that supports vectors. Inkscape is a good choice. This makes it easy for those using a laser cutter or CNC routers.
All the patterns are copyrighted. They are free and I allow free use of the project but not free use of the pattern. Please do not sell the patterns or upload them to any other site. Unfortunately, my patterns are for sale on many web pages. The people who purchase them are getting ripped off and I hate for that to happen. You can help me with this problem by protecting the files you download.

A few years ago I started pinning my patterns to Pinterest. This has a couple of advantages that you may like to check out.

If you download a pattern from my free online catalog, you only get the pattern. That pattern was posted with a blog post. Often times that blog post will have extra information about the pattern. If you use Pinterest to scan through my patterns you can click directly to that day's blog post.
When you get to the Scrollsaw Workshop Pinterest Page, you can scroll down through a history of patterns and other pins. When you see something that interests you just hover your mouse over the picture. You will see a link overlay on the picture(Red Arrow Above), Click that link and it will take you to the post that it came from.
The only negative is that I only started pinning on Pinterest a few years ago. Not all the patterns are there. Someday I hope to correct this by going back and pinning the old patterns. That will take several hours of work so I just have to find the time.
If you do not have a Pinterest account then I highly recommend getting one. It can be a wonderful tool for searching for ideas.
