Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. I have always liked using simple shapes to represent a subject. The simpler the better as long as the final work is recognizable. This technique is often used to depict Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
Their image is so familiar that you can represent them with only a few lines and most people will see the image.
You can then choose your building material to add even more interest to the art. In this piece, I used four different species of wood. I wanted the backer board to have a lot of figure so I found a piece of walnut with a wavy grain.
The project is 8" tall and just over 5.25" wide. I used 3/4", 1/4", and 1/8" thick boards. You could change the thickness of the boards to use what you have and get a different look.
