This basket is 9" long and 4" deep. It is just a general basket that can be displayed as decoration or used to hold small items. Remote controls, sewing supplies, napkins, etc.
This pattern would look good if it were cut from nice hardwood. Walnut, cherry, or maple would all be good choices.
If you have never attempted stack cutting then this is a good pattern to start that technique. I cut this pattern in two hours thanks to stack cutting. Most of the time there is no need for us to be in a hurry to cut a pattern. Often we just want time in the shop to enjoy ourselves. That said, stack cutting is still a very useful technique.
Some scrollers will shy away from a pattern that looks like it will take too long to cut. You can cut that time nearly in half on this pattern if you stack cut.
The photos below are an example of how I stack cut. I take the number of boards I need and wrap them in blue painter's tape. I apply the pattern to the stack and start cutting. In the example below I cut all for pieces at once. That is a huge time-saving.
There are other ways to attach the stack together. You can use brad nails, hot glue on the edges, and even two-sided tape. I don't personally like the two-sided tape if there is much detail in the pattern. It is easy to break the piece when you try to remove the two-sided tape.
In today's patterns, you can cut both front and back together. You can also cut each end as one.

SCROLLNADO Dust collection for the scroll saw (Dewalt DW 788, Delta 40-690, Delta 40-694, Delta 40-695)
If you own a DeWalt DW788 or any of the Delta scroll saws listed then this dust collection system is worth looking at. It collects dust above and below the table. It is easy to install and my tests show it to be effective. No scroll saw dust collector can eliminate all the dust but this one works better than most.
- Innovative dust collection accesory for the scroll saw
