Before my mother passed away a few years ago she lived in an assisted living apartment. The wing she was in was all women. Almost all of them liked to do crafts. As you walked down the hallway you would see all of these crafts hanging on their doors.
This little puppy welcome sign reminded me of those women and their door crafts.
This sign is cut from 1/4" Baltic birch plywood. The backer board is painted black.
Tip to remove those pesky blade wire wraps.
This may be a simple tip but when I figured it out it made me happy. I used to struggle to unwrap the wires that hold the set of scroll saw blades together. Maybe I was just a dunce but I always tried to grasp the end of the tucked-in wire and unwrap it. I was never very successful.
I eventually figured out that if I pinched the end of the wire wrap with two fingers and pulled toward the end of the blade the wire pulls right off. Sometimes you need to try both ends but one end will always work.
Once you get the end free it is a simple job to unwrap the rest of the wire.
