This weed pot is six inches tall. The vase is cut from three layers of 1/2" thick wood. The flower ornamentation is 1/4" thick.
One option is to use 3/4" thick wood for the center section. Use 1/4" thick wood for the front and back. This would allow a glass or plastic test tube to fit into the cutout. Now you can add water and use live plants.
This project is easy to cut. If you don't use the ornamentation then it becomes very easy to cut.
Here is another video from Tyler. In this video he cuts the vase pattern I posted a few days ago. This vase is a slightly different style than the vase I posted in today's blog but still a relatively easy pattern to cut.
Tyler always gives good tips so take a few minutes to watch the video. You can download this pattern at the link below if you did not download it when it was first published.
I can't remember the last time I went to a movie theatre. Patty, Patty's sister, and I went to see Top Gun Maverick yesterday. It was one of those theatres that have the big soft recliners. The screen was really large and there was almost no one there. Early Monday afternoon is a great time to go to the movies. :)
I have always been an aviation buff and remember the first Top Gun movie very well. That was over 35 years ago. I was never a big Tom Cruise fan but I did like all the characters in the first Top Gum movie.
I did not think the characters in the new Top Gun were as entertaining as the original but they were not bad. The writing was predictable but it's an action movie so that was expected I guess.
The videography of the flight scenes was spectacular. That was my favorite part.
We enjoyed the movie. For me, it was not quite as good as the original but it seems to be getting good reviews. Reviewers seem to think it is better than the original. It has great Rotten Tomatoes scores.
If you like action movies, Tom Cruise, or aviation then I think you will enjoy the movie.
Does movie theatre popcorn really cost $8 a bag now? Wow! It was good popcorn though. 😮
