I have included 100 years of Happy Birthday cake topper patterns in this download. These are best cut from 1/8" acrylic but I have used 1/8" Baltic birch plywood. The acrylic is just much easier to clean.
This pattern also lends itself to being cut on the laser because we are using thin material. Most lasers cut acrylic easily and cleanly.
I have found that the easiest way to cut acrylic is to sandwich it between two sheets of thin plywood
The most misdiagnosed scroll saw failure.
The scroll saw is a machine. Almost all machines have "wear" items that need to be replaced after a certain amount of use. One of the more common issues with scroll saws is that eventually, the blades will start slipping out of the clamps. This problem is often misdiagnosed which can cause more expensive repairs down the line.
In the video below I discuss the blade slipping issue and talk about a repair. This is not helpful for the entry-level scroll saws but all of the mid-level and high-end saws can be helped by this repair.
