The C172 holds the world endurance record. On December 4th, 1958, Robert Timm and John Cook took off from an airport in Las Vegas. They stayed in the air for nearly 65 days. You heard me correctly. 64 days, 22 hours, 19 minutes, and 5 seconds later they landed. To resupply and refuel they flew close to the ground and had the supplies lifted up with a rope and bucket. The record was/is an amazing feat. Watch the video below for all the details.
The model in this pattern has a wing span of 12.75". Most of the parts are 1/4" thick except the center fuselage which is 1/2" thick. If needed you can cut two of the center section from 1/4" and have the 1/2" needed.
