Two Patterns Today
Click to EnlargeIf you have ever tried reading a magazine online then you know that it is just not the same. There is something about holding a paper magazine and turning the pages that feels special. You can grab some scissors and cut out an article or coupon. You can dog-ear a page to keep track of something you wish to show later. Best of all, and something my wife does all the time is share the magazine with family when she is finished with it.
This magazine box is nine inches wide, ten inches tall, and six inches deep. People magazine is eight inches wide so most magazines should fit.
The box is cut from 1/4" thick wood. Plywood is a good choice if you wish to paint the box.
The basket is another one-board pattern. It is cut from 1/4" thick wood. Technically it is not a one board because I like to make the bottom a circle.
I always enjoy it when Cy uploads another video. She is quite talented and very friendly. In this video, a friend visits her shop so she can help him make an intarsia gift for his wife. They both cut the same pattern but use different wood choices. Both look great.
