This basket pattern is 10" long and 8" wide. In the image, I show the rings cut from 3/4" and the top/bottom cut from 1/4" thick wood. It will work fine if you cut the top/bottom from 3/4" also. I just like the top and bottom thinner. 

The Mary and Jesus pattern is 8" X 10" and cut from two layers of 1/4" plywood. I am showing the front layer painted black.
