I have a couple more Holiday patterns for you today. Yesterday's holiday-themed patterns had hundreds of downloads so I wanted another go at it.
I am not going to kid you. The Thanksgiving pattern will take a bit of work. There are seven layers plus the base. The pattern is 10" wide and 8" tall. The layers are 1/4" thick and the base is 1/2" thick. You could skip one or more layers and it still looks okay. The image below shows it with only four of the layers.
The Samta pattern is 8" wide and cut from 1/4" thick wood.
I understand that the topic of Native American treatment by the Pilgrims is a complicated one at best. This video, from the Real History YouTube Channel, gives another perspective from the one we were taught as children. It is interesting and worth the 52 minutes it takes to watch. The video is not just about the relationship between the Native Americans and the Pilgrims but the complete Journey of the settlers.
The Real History of How the Pilgrims Colonized AmericaThose of you who may have some interest in Planetary Science might enjoy this app I am working on. It is not complete and there may be some bugs, especially with the date simulation but it works. The app shows the relative position and speed of the orbits of the planets and a few other objects. You can adjust the speed and start/stop the animation.
Click the object to get information about the object.
I will possibly be adding more objects depending on if I can keep the animation speed reasonably fast.
Let me know what you think and if you have any feature ideas that might be cool.
