If you want to cut these vases from nice hardwoods, let me recommend Ocooch Hardwoods. They offer many species, and you can select the width and thickness of the boards. I believe they come in lengths of 24". They are not a sponsor of mine, and I receive no ad money from them. I have simply used them for many years, and they have always been professional and shipped quickly. Their prices are in line with today's norms for processed boards. When you visit their page, look for the menu item that says "Species", click that link, and look through the 32 species they offer.
I am often asked if there is a way to make these vases hold water. I have never tried because I consider them ornamental vases, and they are designed as free-standing or for artificial flowers.
The "I Love Winter" pattern is 8" wide and designed to hang on your front door. Baltic Birch plywood is a good option for this pattern.
I'll be honest, I used to not love winter at all when I was still working. I had to drive at all hours of the day, and snow and cold weather were tough. Now that I have retired and live out in the county, I enjoy winter much better. If the roads are bad, I just stay home. Did I mention that retirement is good!
