Wedding Cake Topper plus African Parrot Scroll Saw Patterns

If you are planning a wedding, you know how expensive it can be. This cake topper may not be appropriate for a large formal wedding, but for a simple wedding, it may work fine.

The bride and groom figures are approximately 7 inches tall. While the pattern recommends using 1/4-inch thick wood, cutting the backer board from 1/8-inch wood would reduce the impact on the cake, leaving a smaller slice. If you struggle cutting 1/8" thick wood, consider stack cutting two boards. The extra thickness will help with extra blade resistance.

The Parrot pattern is over 10" tall and has 3/4" and 1/4" thick woods. If you are a talented painter, you can do a better job than I simulated on the sample. It is also fine to just leave the wood natural.
