Ring Bowl Scroll Saw Pattern.

Download Below

This pattern has two sizes for this candle bowl. The one pictured above is cut from 1/4" thick wood. The largest ring is 7.5" diameter. The bowl is nearly 6" tall. The candle in the picture is a four-inch diameter candle.

There is also a 50% scale version that is cut from 1/8" thick wood. It is under 3" tall and will hold a small candle of about 2" diameter.

The Ring Bowl can obviously be used for something other than a candle holder. It is large enough to hold a few apples or even dinner rolls.  Use your imagination.

Assembly can be a little finicky. For less frustration follow the build instructions in the pattern.

Wow, price on Amazon for the Delta 40-694: $299.

I monitor the price on Amazon for the Delta 40-694 scroll saw. It is the lowest priced saw on the market that I consider a mid-level saw at a near entry-level price. Is this the best saw you can buy? No, it is not. Is it a great value for anyone on a tight budget but wants something better. Yes.

It has everything a hobbyist needs to get started in the hobby with good results. If you have a less expensive saw this is a good opportunity to move up to a saw that is a pleasure to use. This could even make an excellent second saw(backup saw) for your shop.

$299 is $100 off the normal price. That may be the cheapest I have seen this saw sell for. I think $315 was the lowest I have seen before. I believe the full retail price is $499. I guarantee this will not last long. Amazon changes prices quickly.

At this price, it does not come with a stand. The stand is another $84 if bought separately. Amazon pricing can get screwy sometimes. Do not buy the Saw, stand and light combo. It is way overpriced. Buy them separately for the best deal.

Delta also offers a good warranty for this saw. I have no idea how good their service is because I have never used it but the warranty is good and they are a known brand.

If you have the budget for an $800 to $1,000 saw then go that route. You won't be disappointed. The Seyco, Pegas, Excalibur, Jet, Hawk, King, and Hegner are all fantastic saws that I highly recommend. I understand that not everyone wants to shell out that much money for a hobby they may only participate in a few times a year. That is why I like to point out the Delta.

Pattern Printing Tip:

For many scroll saw patterns it is important that they print at the correct size. This is not always the default. If you are not using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as your PDF viewer you may not have this option.

If you are using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC you will see the print dialog above when you click the print option. Make sure you set the print driver to "Actual Size".

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is free. Adobe does not make it easy to find the free version. Here is the link to download it. Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Download

They also try to get you to download extra stuff you do not need. Look at the image below. Make sure you uncheck the optional offers before you click download now.

I have used Adobe Acrobat Reader for years. It is the default PDF viewer from the company who invented the PDF format. Like all software that you download and install, there are potential issues. If you are not comfortable installing software then get help.
