This display/lantern project was cut from 1/8" and 1/4" Baltic birch plywood. I put a candle in it but it can also be used as a small display case for a decorative art piece. The height is ~10.5"
I'm sorry to have to say this every time I do a project with a candle but I must. Candles can be dangerous if left unattended. Only burn candles in areas where they are supervised.
If you use this project with a real candle do not leave the top on while the candle is burning. If you want to leave the top on, then use an electric candle.
Depending on how you plan to use the display/lantern you can either glue the tower to the base of leave the project is three pieces for easy access. If you will only be using it as a display case then you could even glue the top in place and leave the bottom free.
This project has several identical parts. Stack cutting will greatly speed up the process. When I cut the tower walls I stack cut three at a time. You could do all six but there are some small interior cuts so I played it safe.

I know that a lot of you do much more than just scrolling. Many of us are makers. We have a creative need to make and experiment with many different projects. If that sounds like you then Amazon can be a great resource for project parts.
Amazon has millions of products for sale. If you need it there is a good chance you can get it on Amazon. Yes, I am an Amazon fanboy. I use Amazon weekly and often multiple times a week. I run my business with Amazon supplies. I am a prime member so I get free two-day shipping. Heck, sometimes I get the product the next day. Crazy.
Above I listed two types of maker parts that we often need. The first link goes to all the DC motors listed and the second link goes to the AC motors.
I even use Amazon for these supplies.
Wood glue With Prime free shipping I can get a gallon of Titebond original wood glue for $15.98 and free shipping. Even at Walmart, it costs $21.45. That is a no brainer.
Okay, you get the idea. I know that everyone is not comfortable buying online. I understand that. You do need to use care and buy from reliable sources.
When I buy from Amazon I almost always only buy the products that are shipped by Amazon. There are millions of products sold on Amazon that are purchased from and shipped by third-party sellers. That is another reason I am a Prime member. I know that I get Prime free shipping on a product then it is shipped by Amazon.
