I use a lot of spray cans. I use spray adhesive, Spray acrylic, and spray paint. I have a large spray can holder at the other end of my shop but I wanted something close to my small work table. This one holds only three cans but that's enough to have close by.
I mounted it directly on the work table but I put it on the front of the table just for the photo. I will move it to the back so it is out of the way but still handy.
Having the cans stick up above the top of the table would be a problem if this were my actual workbench but it's not. That is at the other end of the shop. This work table is only for glue-ups and some finishing work.
The holder could also be hung on a wall or anyplace that is handy.
I used 1/4" plywood that looks kind of flimsy but I added braces under the bottom tray to give it enough strength.
UPDATE: I went back and edited the pattern to include two center supports to help
secure the top tray. (See red arrow in the photo below)
I used cheap scrap plywood and it was not 1/4" thick. I always check the thickness when I am going to cut slot and tab construction. I did not change the pattern. I just cut inside the pattern line so the fit was snug.
