I have been receiving many ideas for compound cut patterns from you guys. I thank all of you who submitted ideas. I have one for you today that would be fairly easy to cut. There are four parts to the pattern. The flower, two leaves, and the vase. The leaves are glued to the stem after they are cut.
Yesterday I experimented by adding download files for laser, CNC, and 3D printers. I had no idea if they would get any downloads and they didn't. The 3D print file had 38 downloads. The laser file was 79 downloads. That is a small fraction of the numbers for the scroll saw pattern downloads. Like 1/100th. That pretty much tells me what I needed to know. I may occasionally add one of those files but it will not be on a regular schedule. They add about another hour to my work day. I may find another outlet for the 3D print files.
By the way. the Game On scroll saw pattern was not a big download either but I knew that would be the case. Those types of patterns are a small niche in my reader demographic.
I also want to let you know that I am days behind on answering emails. I get to as many as possible but some are going to get overlooked. I apologize for that. I try to prioritize certain email topics. Customer orders get first attention. Then I try to answer questions from new scrollers. Personal pattern requests get moved down the list just because of time. I do as many as I can but I run out of hours in a day. Some patterns can take a couple of hours to make and some take just minutes.
If you have a screw clamp it makes an excellent tool to hold the blank while you cut. You will have better control if you use a clamp but the parts can absolutely be cut free without the clamp.
Sand the end of the leaves until they sit at the correct angle when glued to the flower. CA glue is the easiest way to glue on the leaves. CA glue with activator holds within six seconds.
