This Angel project is a little over 11" tall and 10" wide. The pattern has a backer board but that is optional. If you hang her in a window you may want the light to shine through without the backer. The pattern calls for 1/2" and 1/4" thick boards but that is only a suggestion. Use what you have available.

Repair the Excalibur Scroll Saw.
This is something I have not spoken much about. A few years ago the manufacturing of the Excalibur scroll saw was moved from Taiwan to China. The quality of the Taiwanese-manufactured saws was excellent. After the move to China, the quality took a bit of a hit. Moving and retooling is a big job so I hoped that they would work out the kinks. I believe they have made improvements but the quality is still not as good as before the move. I'm not saying it is a bad saw. All saws have strong and weak points. It is just not up to par with the past Taiwanese manufactured saws.
In the video below, Richard explains how he was able to repair a broken Chinese-manufactured Excalibur using parts from Pegas (Bear Woods Link) and Seyco. This is not an easy repair but the tips from just watching Richard go through it for the first time may save you tons of time if you ever get in this situation.
